Dr. Bashir is board-certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology. He has worked in the Gwinnett area for over 10 years at Northside Hospital/Gwinnett Medical Center where he was the Medical Director for Neurology, Neurophysiology, and the Concussion Institute.
He has served in several other leadership positions throughout his career including stroke committee chair, GMG peer review committee chair, and has been involved in various other committees including the GMG physician advisory council, the Georgia EMS medical directors advisory board, annual Neuroscience Conference planning committee, and others.
Dr. Bashir also enjoys teaching and served as the Neurology subspeciality coordinator for the Internal Medicine Residency program, and has given multiple lectures, and conferences throughout the year.
Dr. Bashir brings a breadth of experience throughout the full spectrum of inpatient and outpatient neurology including stroke, seizures, concussion, TBI, headaches, neuropathy, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, tremor, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, and neurodiagnostic testing.
Dr. Bashir received his medical degree from the University of South Florida in Tampa, Florida and completed his Neurology residency training at the University of Miami. He subsequently completed a Clinical Neurophysiology fellowship with combined focus in Epilepsy and Neuromuscular medicine (EEG/EMG) at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
